Is it gay for men to wear make up just to make their skin look smoother?

It’s not gay, it’s metrosexual (if you’re straight).

There’s nothing wrong about wanting to improve your appearance. Screw common convention as long as you feel good about yourself and do not hurt anyone in the process! But if you feel uncomfortable with what you’re wearing - be it clothes or makeup - don’t force it. The discomfort only means that it’s not “you” or right for you.

Anyway, regarding makeup. If you want to cover spots and uneven patches, a light liquid foundation in a shade one or two tones darker than your skin tone is recommended. It looks the most natural and is easy to apply. Use sparingly, as in 1-2 drops for the whole face.

If you want to look like you’re wearing zero makeup but with better skin, use tinted moisturizer. It’s technically not makeup actually. I suggest Nivea if you’re on a budget (they have dark shades, available in department stores, drug stores and supermarkets, around P300) but if you want the really good stuff, try Shiseido Tinted Moisture (~P1600, Rustans Essences and some department stores) or Laura Mercier (P2k+, Rustans Essences) since these have darker shades. Note: tinted moisturizers from most brands are usually very light and not suitable for the natural look you’re going for.

You know what though, instead of focusing on makeup, you should invest on skin care. There are tons of stuff out there that really works in making your skin smoother up to the point of being flawless. You should depend on makeup only as a skin enhancer and not as a means to have good skin.

Hope this helped! I obviously enjoyed answering this one. :P

I agree. Skin care is essential for men too. Thanks for the tips. =)
